Cotton is a soft fiber grown in Turkey for big quantities. This plant is a native to tropical and subtropical regions. This fiber is widely used as natural-fiber cloth in clothing industry today. The quality of Turkish cotton is determined by three main factors; the color of ginned cotton, purity of the ginning process, and the length of fibers. The textile industry of Turkey has higher than expected orders during the first 6 months of the marketing year. According to some sources, high world cotton prices have increased the cost of production for eastern producers.
In comparison, Turkish producers are so slow to make the prices higher. Therefore, they manage to increase cotton sales to European and other countries. But the value of Euro has declined and that of dollar has increased. This case creates a source for Turkey because Turkish textile industry is buying raw material as U.S. dollar and selling processed products to EU member countries on a Euro basis.
